Live Music Line-Up

Live Music @ the Platte with Kelly Aspen

From 7:00pm until 11:00pm

Across the Rocky Mountains and Denver front range, Kelly Aspen's exceptional vocal ability, intense songwriting and never–ceasing passion have established her as a successful international artist, but it's her outgoing spirit and love for the fans that have gained her the reputation as "Colorado's Country Sweetheart". A native Texan, Kelly was literally moved by the music when her mother fell in love with Colorado, inspired by the songs of John Denver. Kelly's trademark sound is innocent yet sensual, dynamic in range and full of character richness. Her album and live show will move and energize you.

Live Music @ the Platte with Maynard Mills Blues Band

From 8:00pm until 12:00am

For over 30 years, Maynard has enjoyed the odd paradox of playing to packed houses while remaining relatively obscure in Denver. He doesn't seem to mind, however, as he says with a deep and down voice, "I feel very humble to carry on the tradition of these great musicians."  His upbeat music has a contagious effect that gets even non–dancers up on their feet and onto the dance floor. Fun is the name of the game when it comes to the Maynard Mills Blues Band.

Live Music @ the Platte with Orphan Boy

From 8:00pm until 12:00am

Orphan Boy features tight vocal harmonies and versatile song selection – the songlist has been constantly and thoughtfully refined on an ongoing basis through the years to address a wide profile within the realm of “classic rock.” It’s an extensive array of ‘good–time’ music you may well know by heart – it’s for everyone who likes to dance, bob their head or tap their foot.  Some people go to dance, others to watch and listen, but mostly people get caught up in Orphan Boy’s ‘atmosphere of fun.’ No matter the place or occasion, a party breaks out – people leave at the end of the show tired from dancing and hoarse from singing along. Orphan Boy is Colorado’s premier 'good time' rock band.

Saturday, May, 26th

Live Music @ the Platte with Boa & the Constrictors

 From 8:00pm until 12:00am

“Boa is a flat–out killer guitarist, capable of about any blues lick you could ever want to hear. He bends those strings with both emotion and devotion (and can play an improv beer bottle slide in a pinch). When Boa cuts loose, he delivers pure, hard–nosed, ferocious guitar anguish. When he sings you hear a blues voice from a man that has lived the life he is singing about.”  “His influences are obvious at times, but mostly it's all him. The guitar is more an appendage than an instrument. A genuine old school lad. And he's funny!”   “I am a big fan of Erik; he really knocked me out on our tour together. His version of, “A Room With A View of the Blues”, was a seasoned, artistic triumph (and that kind of slow blues is one of the hardest things to play and pull off in all of music!) I'm a believer.”

Sunday, May28th

Live Music @ the Platte with Wendy Woo

From 3:00pm until 7:00pm

Sheer talent can attract people’s attention, and Wendy Woo certainly has that in spades; but to keep their attention for an hour and a half with only her own guitar to back her up—that takes a bit more. Woo plays and sings with a passion and heartfelt intensity that lets you know she loves what she does, and draws you into that passion.
